May 13: FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) has recently appointed Sudhir Sitapati as the company’s new managing director and chief executive officer (CEO). His appointment will be effective from October 18, 2021.

After contributing his precious 22 years leading various roles, Sitapati had resigned from his post of executive director at Hindustan Unilever Limited. Currently the chairperson and managing director of GCPL, Nisaba Godrej will be serving in the role of executive chairperson post the appointment of Sitapati.

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd is a well-known FMCG major, owned by the billion-dollar firm Godrej Group. It has a strong presence in the cosmetics and personal care market.

“The Board of Directors at its meeting has appointed Sudhir Sitapati as the managing director and CEO of the company for a period of five years with effect from October 18, 2021, subject to the approval of the shareholders in the ensuing annual general meeting,” GCPL said in a BSE filing.

Commenting on the appointment, Nisaba Godrej said: “I am delighted to be welcoming Sudhir to Godrej. His significant experience and passion for building sustainable and profitable brands and businesses align very strongly with our purpose at GCPL.”
