Jal Mahotsav in MP, January: Madhya Pradesh is soon going to host Jal Mahotsav which is India biggest water carnival. This carnival is going to take place at Hanuwantiya Island in Madhya Pradesh and will continue till January 15, 2021. This month-long festival was inaugurated by Forest Minister Vijay Shah. The event also witnessed the virtual presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Amid the covid scenario, Shah stated that the authority is bound on taking all necessary safety protocols to encourage tourism in the region. The reports also suggest that various other cultural programmes are lined up to encourage art, adventure, foodies, and citizens bored of the everyday routine. In order to avoid the hassle to find accommodation, reports also said that a temporary luxury city has been set up for the tourists. 60 or so luxury tents have been set-up for the purpose.

Some other interesting mind chilling activities include treasure hunts, trekking, bird watching, campfire, and camping. For visitors, a food and craft market is also set-up. Island trekking and cultural evening are also a part of this programme.

Reports claim that all sorts of activities involving land, water and sky have been organised to provide a perfect escapade to the visitors. Water activities involve water skiing, parasailing, banana boat rides, jet skiing, water zorbing. Air activities include parasailing, hot air ballooning, and paramotoring. At the same time, land-based activities offer activities such as tug of war, kite flying, bullock cart race, volleyball, and cycle tour.
