January: Indian air carrier Air India is going to commence their non-stop flights between Bengaluru to San Francisco. The flights will begin from January 11, 2021. According to Air Idia, the flight named AI-175 from Bengaluru to San Francisco will be operating with a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft on every Mondays and Thursdays. Departing from Bengaluru at 2.30 pm, the flight will arrive at San Francisco on the same day at 5 pm of the local time.

Air India in a statement quoted, “Passengers from Bengaluru will enjoy huge benefits travelling to San Francisco as this will enable faster and easier connections.” The return flights are supposed to be carried on Saturdays and Tuesdays. The flights will leave San Francisco at 8.30 pm local time and would arrive in Bengaluru at 2.30+1 hours.

Presently, the Indian carrier Air India operates non-stop flights from Delhi to New York, Newark, Washington, San Francisco and Chicago and from Mumbai to Newark. Respectively, Bengaluru and San Francisco are ranked first and second among the world’s top 45 digitally advanced cities.

Air travel all across the globe is quite uncertain given the new covid strain and the existing cases of the novel coronavirus. India previously had suspended the international flights till December 31, 2020, however, now the flight ban has been extended to January 31, 2021. Other than this, India has specifically banned the temporary flight operations with the UK when 20 people had arrived the country infected with the mutant virus strain.
