19 January: The private carrier IndiGo earlier announced on Saturday the launch of flight services between Delhi and Leh on February 22. With this, Leh is the 63rd domestic destination for the private carrier IndiGo. The airline in the press release said that the bookings for the daily flights operating from Delhi to Leh have already begun.

The press release noted, “Leh, the capital of Ladakh, is known for its magnificent landscapes, crystal clear skies, adventure activities, Buddhist monasteries and festivals. The destination attracts tourists from April to September.”

Sanjay Kumar serving as the chief strategy and revenue officer in the airline quoted, “We are working towards enhancing regional connectivity, which will not only increase access but also promote domestic trade and tourism in the country.”

IndiGo is an Indian airline which is the largest individual Asian low-cost carrier and is the sixth largest in Asia.
