June 9: If you are missing our Goa’s nightlife and badly waiting to visit there as soon as possible then you’ll have to wait for a little longer as Goa’s Port Minister, Michael Lobo has made it clear that nightlife in Goa will not resume until the Covid-19 situation in the country is under control.

Further, the minister stressed the fact that it is quite vital to save the lives of citizens more than anything else. Also, he mentioned that it will take at least a year for the economy to recover properly. Goa is a widely known state for its party culture and nightlife, however, as triggered by the pandemic the state is facing a deserted condition all around.

Earlier this year, the popular vacation point witnessed a slight improvement in its tourism sector but the situation came under criticism when the officials identified tourists breaking Covid protocols. Minister Lobo suggested that the tourism should open in a phased manner prioritizing avoidance over activities those contribute in spreading more virus.

Hotel guests will have to submit their Covid negative certificates in the future, and they have to abide by all rules and regulations laid down by the state. Although, the pandemic condition in Goan state is undergoing major improving unlike other states, however, the death rates are much as numerous patients are still on the ventilators.

He said, “Goa is a world-famous destination for its nightlife. The nightlife has been shut down (due to COVID-19 curbs) and I feel that it should continue to remain closed till the Covid-19 situation in the country comes under control.”
