January: In order to facilitate connectivity to the Statue of Unity, Prime minister Narendra Modi flagged off 8 trains those will connect Kevadiya (where the tourist spot is located) to various other regions of the country.

With this, travelling to the famous tourist spot, the Statue of Unity would become much easier. Referring to the development, the Prime Minister stated that with this, the connectivity to the statue will improve that will help transform the lives of the tribal community of Kevadiya. Further, adding that it will be beneficial for the tourists coming to witness one of the tallest statues in the world.

PM Modi also added that it would also bring new employment opportunities for both, job sector and self-employment.

Reportedly, passengers will now be able to board trains from cities or states like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Pratapgarh of Uttar Pradesh, Rewa of Madhya Pradesh. As stated by the Railway Ministry, the Ahmedabad-Kevadiya Jan Shatabdi Express will be a vistadome tourist couch. This will let travellers enjoy the panoramic skyline view.

Travellers from Delhi can board the train from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. At the same time, Mumbai travellers can board one from Dadar Railway Station.

  • Train Number 09103/04 Mahamana Express (weekly) on Kevadiya-Varanasi route
  • Train number 02927/28 Dadar-Kevadia Express (daily)
  • Train Number 09247/48 Janshatabdi Express (daily) on Ahmedabad-Kevadiya route
  • Train Number 09145/46 Nizamuddin–Kevadia Sampark Kranti Express (bi-weekly)
  • Train Number 09105/06 Kevadia – Rewa Express (weekly)
  • Train Number 09119/20 Chennai – Kevadia Express (weekly)
  • Train Number 09107/08 MEMU train (daily) on Pratapnagar-Kevadiya route
  • Train Number 09109/10 on MEMU train (daily) train on Kevadiya-Pratapnagar route
