Philippines to India, January: Malacañang earlier of Friday announced temporarily barring UAE, Hungary travellers from entering the Philippines in order to contain the spread of more contagious variant of coronavirus. The same was reported by the Philippines News Agency. The travel ban with the given two countries will be with effect from 12.01 am (local time) on January 17 till January 31.

These countries are among the list of 30 countries who have been barred for the air travel with the Philippines, as suggested by the updated list released by the Office of the Executive Secretary. It was stated by the Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque. Among the 30 countries temporarily banned for air travel to the Philippines, India is also one of them.

The spokesperson said that foreigners travelling before January 17 are allowed to go to the Philippines, however, under few restrictions. the travellers require to undergo an ‘absolute facility-based 14 days of quarantine period’ even if their RT-PCR test report is received negative.

Roque quoted, “Foreign passengers coming from or who have been to the UAE and Hungary within 14 days immediately preceding arrival in the Philippines shall be prohibited from entering the country effective January 17, 2021, 12:01am, Manila time until January 31, 2021.”
