Parasailing in Kerala, January: Launching Kerala’s first parasailing project at Hawa beach in Kovalam, state tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran sets to provide to a new facility to the tourist for their leisure time. Launching the activity, Surendran said that Kovalam is a famed international beach destination and the new activity will help in boosting the water sport activities and the tourism in the state.

For parasailing in Kerala, winch parasail boat will be used at the beach. This boat is originally made in Goa and manufactured in the United Kingdom. The tourists will be taken to this boat on a feeder boat and this parasail boat will be 11m in length, 3m in width and 1.5m in its depth.

This is an Rs. 2.5 crore project which will be run by Bond Adventures. The adventure sports centre has also been offering various other waterbody-related adventure packages for Bond safari Kovalam, scuba diving, snorkelling, among others for many years till now.

The minister quoted, “The new facility will give a boost to water sport activities in Kovalam, besides complementing the efforts to develop the state as a major adventure tourism hub.”
