May14: Kruger Shalati, a train on the bridge in the Kruger region has been recently converted into an innovative luxury hotel. Kruger Shalati is a historic train and its conversion has made it one of the most innovative luxury hotels in the world.

The train cum hotel has been now permanently parked on the Selati Bridge just above the Sabie River. A representative of the hotel has informed a leading travel magazine that back in the 1920s, this park was declared a national park for which the train was the only way of commuting to the spot.

They would halt at the bridge overnight as a part of the rail journey. This will be the inspiration behind the concept of the hotel. The train consists of 31 rooms including 24 carriage rooms along with bridge house rooms.

Every room has a window extending from the floor to the ceiling and tubs that will ensure a beautiful golden sunset for the guests. There are other amenities inside the train including glass-walled rooms, a swimming pool and a deck.

According to the official website of the property, the hotel “pays homage to the guests who explored the park nearly 100 years ago while welcoming new explorers from near and far.” Other than this, the website also mentions that the station is a ‘way to celebrate where the first visits to the iconic park were allowed in the early 1920s.’
