Further, he said that the company is planning to include more routes for Kullu, Shimla, and Haryana as well in the future. With this establishment, this would be the 54th airport under the UDAN scheme. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, under the scheme, 54 airports along with 307 routes, 2 water aerodromes, and 5 heliports have been operationalised.

UDAN scheme works for mainly two objectives and the Hisar airport is aligned both of them at the same time. Since it is a public licenced airport and it is suitable for 18 seat aircraft, it ensures that common citizens of the country fly. The second objective is to make air travel more affordable and preferred in the whole country.
