Kerala government aims to make famous tourist spots ‘complete vaccinated zones’ by July 15

June 12: As the reports have it, all famous tourist destination points in Kerala may soon be declared as ‘complete vaccinated zones’. The state government is mulling to provide Covid-19 vaccines to everyone who is involved in the tourism sector which has already suffered a high rate of losses amid the pandemic situation.

As suggested by the reports, the government has included citizens involved with the tourism sector as a priority. Listing them as frontline Covid fighters, they have started providing them vaccines. The announcement about the latest development was made by Tourism Minister PA Mohammed Riyas.

While announcing this, the minister also said that the sector has suffered major losses of Rs. 33,675 crore due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The minister also expressed that the government, with the help of the help department, is planning to make famous tourist hotspots ’10 per cent vaccinated zones’ by July 15.

Riyas mentioned allotment of Rs. 150 crore to the industry for marketing adding to the existing provision of Rs. 100 crore while presenting the budget in the assembly.

Finance Minister KN Balagopal has also announced a rejuvenation package aiming to support the tourism sector and resolve its issues. For the same, the finance minister said that Rs. 30 crore has been allotted as government share for the industry revival.
