May 18:<\/strong> Pushing further the dates of the monuments across the country opening, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has decided to extend the closure till May 31, 2021.<\/p>\n

Previously, ASI had extended the shut till May 15 given the excessive surge in the coronavirus cases in India. Sharing the news with everyone, the government body had issued a formal statement in this regard.<\/p>\n

The statement said, “In continuation of the office order dated 15 April 2021, all the Centrally protected monuments\/sites under ASI shall continue to remain closed due to the present Covid-19 pandemic situation till May 31, 2021, or until further orders.”<\/p>\n

As time passes, the country is struggling hard to cope up with the surging Covid-19 cases. The second wave of the deadly virus has led to a number of infections and an increasing number of deaths every day.<\/p>\n

After the Archaeological Survey of India shared the statement, Indian Union Cultural Minister, Prahlad Singh Patel shared the same news via Twitter with a piece of additional information that the decision was taken after the approval of the Union Culture Ministry. The government body had decided to shut the centrally-protected monuments on April 15.<\/p>\n

Other than this, several states have decided to restrict citizens’ movement within and outside the state in order to lessen the covid spread.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
