March 25<\/strong>: The Union Minister (IC) of Culture and Tourism, Prahlad Singh Patel recently mentioned the in-process development of the 19 tourist destinations in the country as Iconic Tourism Destinations while addressing the fellow parliamentarians in a Parliament session.<\/p>\n These preparations are in process by the stakeholder’s consultations. Patel also stated that the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) has recommended a total amount of Rs. 5,109 crore for the period of FY 2020-21 to 2025-26 aiming to develop 19 Iconic Tourist Destinations.<\/p>\n The recommendation was made last year during a meeting held in mid-October. The minister stated about the project while responding to a question asked by MP of Kottayam, Kerala, Thomas Chazhikkadan as he mentioned the current status of the Kumarakom Iconic Destination development project.<\/p>\n
