February 09:<\/strong> In order to help the emerging designers in the country, India’s first fashion fellowship was launched that focused on the water stewardship. This was introduced to help the designers develop an understanding of sustainable fashion.<\/p>\n The fellowship is spearheaded by YWater and The ReFashion Hub as the conceptualisation is by the sustainability coach Rushva Parihar and jewellery designer Riddhika Jesrani. The stakeholders of the fellowship are young designers, artisans, industry leaders, textile bodies, fashion businesses and consumers.<\/p>\n The deadline for the applicants is February 15. The fellowship will be 5-week long and is open to footwear, apparel, and accessory designers. The fellowship will be judged by Nonita Kalra, Parmesh Shahani and Akshay Tyagi who will judge the sustainable capsule collection developed during the fellowship. The cherry on the top news is that the winners will be awarded Rs. 1 lakh.<\/p>\n
