January: Chief Commercial official Vinod Kannan earlier on Monday said that passengers travelling through Vistara airlines will soon be able to book a seat adjacent to them at a discounted rate in order to keep it vacant.
The development came after Vistara released a survey stating that 24 per cent of passengers were worried that their fellow flyers might not adhere to covid protocols during their flights. Kannan also claimed to the press that the airline has sent a note to the travel agents that currently, the passengers can book an adjacent seat at the same price to keep it vacant.
At the same time, the officer added that the airline is looking to provide this service in the online scenario and provide some incentive through discounts. He also added that the work is in the pipeline. After the resumption of domestic air services since May 25, Vistara’s average occupancy rate in Vistara flights was between 50 to 60 per cent.

The survey released by Vistara earlier on Monday said that a total of 65% of its passengers were planning to take their next flight within the next 6 months time. As per the survey, the business was the biggest reason for travel as indicated by 35% of the respondents. While 25 per cent of the respondents were expected to travel to meet closed one.
