March 19: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has recently directed the officials to complete the Char Dham arrangements by April 30.

Explaining the same, a statement was released by the state government that read, “No laxity will be tolerated towards the work. Speed of the work shall be enhanced.” The statement also had it that the chief minister will himself review the arrangements.

Also, it stated that while the officials ensure that the work is completed within the set timeline, the quality of the work must not be compromised at any cost.

Rawat will also conduct a terrestrial inspection of the works done and has also directed all secretaries to periodically inspect the progress of the work in their respective departments. Rawat also said that the work being done on the road improvement must be completed before the Char Dham yatra begins.

Regarding this, the state government also issued a press release that reads, “Road-related work should be completed in time on the travel routes and its adjoining areas as well. To facilitate the journey, adequate arrangements for drinking water, sanitation, signages and other basic facilities should be made on the travel routes.”

The report suggests that, for the Char Dham Yatra, the passengers can now avail the opportunity of helicopter service without any hassle. However, in order to avail the option, Rawat explained that online arrangements will be in place, whereas special attention needs to be given to ensuring that there is transparency in ticket distribution.
