US government: Introducing a visa-bond pilot program, the Trump administration in the US has implied the travellers from several countries those will have to furnish a bond. Both business and leisure travellers are included in the intended travel. The proposed bond can cost $15,000. However, the good news for Indian travellers is that the program will now apply to them in the United States as of now. The mentioned rule will publish on November 24. The government of the United States has introduced this requirement through a temporary final rule.
Also, speculations have been taking place that it will also affect the Indians who are in the US or who wish to visit the country soon. According to the data, the overstay rate of Indians in 2019 was 1.08% which accounts that only 13,403 Indians overstayed and since the Trump administration is introducing the proposal for the rate of 10% or more, it is not applicable on the Indians.
The visa bond is deemed as a pilot program, for now, to be into effect by December only. Reportedly, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, and a number of Africans countries would also face an effect due to this visa-bond requirement.
