05 February: In order to curb the furrther surge in the Covid infections, Saudi Arabia has decided to ban travellers from 20 countries from entering into the country, India being one of them. As the new covid strain has it, the country has taken such a decision.

The temporary ban on the travel has been extended further with the below-mentioned countries: Turkey, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Lebanon, Ireland, India, and the US to name a few. However, the ban also applies to the travellers who had travelled in any of these mentioned 20 countries within the time period of the last 14 days.

While most countries are witnessing a loosening rope of the contagious virus, Saudi Arabia has only witnesses the dangerous coronavirus heat as the number of cases has only got tripled since January. Numerically, the country has more than 3,68,000 reported cases along with 6400 deaths.

Further, the new strain is contributing towards making the situations worst for the country as of now. The country is expecting a reduction in the covid cases as the nation launched its vaccine on December 17. With this extended travel suspension, Indian travellers will now not be able to travel to the popular destinations of Saudi Arabia like Riyadh, Jeddah and Mecca among others.
