February 14: The ministry of railways has decided to replace the Agartala-Anand Vihar Terminal Special Rajdhani Express with the latest Tejas sleeper coaches which are scheduled to run on tracks from the 15th of February, 2021.

With an aim of further improvement scope, the ministry is planning to produce 500 units of the ‘Tejas-type’ sleeper coaches. These are manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory and Modern Coach Factory in the financial year 2021-22. These will be produced with a vision of replacing the long-distance trains currently in the network of Indian Railways.

The ministry further added, “Indian Railway is making a paradigm shift in the travel experience for the passengers. A new era of train travel experience with enhanced comfort is being rolled out with the introduction of sleeper-type Tejas Trains.”

The step was taken to bestow the best travel experience for railway passengers. These Tejas-type coaches have laid the best amenities for the passengers such as automatic plug doors, improved interiors with PU foam, CCTV, toilet occupancy sensor, water availability sensor among others.
