March 01: Recently Indian Railways had increased the ticket price for passengers travelling for the shorter distances. Even though as claimed by the railway authorities that the fare will be applicable with an amount of 20-30 rupees only, this increased fare will affect the passengers who travel 30-40 km distance. Citizens around the country are quite disappointed over this decision and are blaming the Central government for the same.

However, the railway authorities had given a clarification over the development which has spread tensions among the people. As per the statement of the Railway Minister, the hike in the fare has been introduced to lower the non-essential travel.

Railways warned that since the covid pandemic is still out there and is increasing in some states, travel must be controlled. Given the situation, many states have either asked for a negative covid report on the passenger’s arrival or have made a compulsory decision on sending them for the screening.
