New Delhi, December 23: The new strain of covid or SARS-CoV-2 have been found in parts of Europe which have forced the UK government to impose a strict lockdown in some parts. The industry experts claim that the rise of this strain can further push the recovery of the international airline operations which were effected long back during the first half of this year.

The air operations might take time to come back to its original structure as all the countries are running to close their borders to prevent the entry of another virus into their countries. Several countries, India included, have already temporarily put a halt on the air operations to and from the United Kingdom.

Other than this, the UK government itself has imposed a strict lockdown in London and South East England. This new strain is considered to be more infectious than coronavirus. While the world is preparing Christmas celebrations, this virus has sent an alarm across the world. The British government stated that this new form of covid-19 is 70% more transmissible and out of control.

The traces of this virus have been found in the UK, The Netherlands, Denmark, and Austria. Earlier on Sunday, countries like Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands have announced the suspension of air activities with Britain due to exchange of the virus by the potential influx of travellers from Britain. World Health Organisation later on Saturday tweeted that they were in close contact with UK officials on the new coronavirus variant.
