Gem Tours & Travel, a Mumbai based company has recently announced a coronavirus vaccine tourism package for the high net worth individual clients those are wishing to travel to the US. The operator of the travel services shared the details of this package via WhatsApp messages. The message read, “Be among the first to get Corona Vaccine: As soon as Pfizer Vaccine is officially published to sell America (tentative date 11 December), v r ready to get it done for select few VVIP clients”.
The price of this 3-nights/4-days package is Rs. 1,74,999, this comprises of Mumbai-New-York-Mumbai airfare along with the shot of the vaccine. The travel company has been able to pitch this package with the help of pharma major Pfizer Inc and German partner BioNTech SE, whose covid-19 vaccine has shown 95% efficacy in preventing the virus along with no major safety concerns. Pfizer has applied to the US health regulators for emergency use authorization of vaccine.
Live Mint inquired from the travel company through call, but the company did not answer the call and later left a message saying that they were unable to answer the call because of a load of queries. However, the company said that the package is being booked without any advance or deposits on a first-come-first-serve basis. They also said that they require client’s registration with them with the name, e-mail, cell, age, any one of physical complications from above and a passport copy. The firm has confirmed that they don’t hold the rights of any vaccine and that they will be working as per the official permissions of the US health department.
The firm confirmed from via a message, “Everything we will arrange will be within laws of United States of America. We will only process your requirements. Right now, no time frame can be committed. We are keeping the list ready so as and when America allows foreigners to come and take the vaccine, we should not waste time because every life matters to their family members.
