Lakshadweep cruise tourism, February 27: In order to bring more employment opportunities and foreign exchange to the Union Territory, Lakshadweep has proposed cruise tourism. The idea is to develop a cruise tourism model that is similar to the ones in the Mauritius and Maldives.

This would add up to another world-class cruising facility in the country through the island of Lakshadweep. The development of this cruise tourism would also fuel the employment rate other than providing great experiences. While presenting the proposal, Lakshadweep has informed the Ministry of Home Affairs that they are interested in dedicating a tourist ship in the islands.

With incredible locations amid blue waters and sandy beaches, Lakshadweep has the potential to become a world-class destination for cruise tourism. The tourists will enjoy the beautiful locations of the UT by travelling on a cruise ship the size of which might also vary, therefore, one can travel on large ships and small yachts at one’s disposal.

The department of tourism is also planning to introduce an ‘all-inclusive’ holiday package on a cruise ship for 48 hours. Along with this, it will also contain an itinerary that will be providing tourist with a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Other than this, Lakshadweep has also developed eco-friendly resorts in its island for tourists that one can find in Minicoy, Kalpeni, Kavaratti and Bangaram islands.
