January: Divine Maharashtra tourist train services began from January 8 by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Prominent religious and heritage destinations in central India will be covered by this train journey. As per the information laid by an IRCTC spokesperson, the state of the art AC Deluxe Tourist Train tour will start from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station.

The five-day journey commenced on January 8 from Delhi and ended on January 12. The tour covered the prominent religious and heritage tourist destinations in central India. Designed in line with the government’s initiative Dekho Apna Desh, the Maharashtra Divine train is supposed to promote the country’s domestic tourism.

The features of this new deluxe tourist train include two fine-dining restaurants, a modern kitchen, shower cubicles in the coaches, sensor-based washroom functions, and foot massager among others.

In these four nights and five days tour, the trip also showcased two vital Jyotirlingas namely Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple in Nasik, Maharashtra and Ghrishneshwar in Aurangabad. Further, it also went to Shirdi Sai and Shani temples and UNESCO World heritage site Ellora caves. The ‘Divine Maharashtra’ train has solid security features like CCTV cameras. IRCTC has also deployed private security guards on the train.

Other than this, the tourists were asked to follow all the necessary health precautions during the tour amid the covid spread. The staff was thoroughly screened and the kitchens and restaurants were sanitized at regular intervals.
