Mau, Uttar Pradesh, 27 January: Heeding towards the proposal of the former IAS officer Arvind Kumar Sharma, Indian Railways has flagged off a special train from Delhi to Mau located in Uttar Pradesh region of India. Beginning on 24th of January, this special train would facilitate the travel of citizens to the historic place Mau also known as Maunath Bhanjan.

Mau is the oldest destinations in Uttar Pradesh with a huge historic and archaeological significance. It is known that various old archaeological remains have been found in that area prooving the human inhabitation since ages.

Mau is also known to be an industrial town of eastern Uttar Pradesh. After the slaying of textiles centres in Varanasi and Mubarakpur, it is one among the last hubs of the textile industry in the state of UP. The region also has many religious and spiritual destinations worth witnessing as there are many ancient temples located at the idyllic sites.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal took to Twitter to announce the commencement of the new train service. He also mentioned that with the beginning of the Covid-19 vaccination drive in the country, the latest train service would help people travel and help boost economic activities.

With the help of this train, citizens would be able to travel to one of the important tourist places in Uttar Pradesh. The tourists in Mau can also visit sites and temples like Devi Mandir, Muktidham Temple, Sheetla Mata Mandir, park on the banks of Ghagra river situated in Mau’s Dohrighaat town.
