India-UK flights, 03 February: Limiting the number of flight exchanges with all countries, the Indian government has yet again decided to extend the flight ban between India and the United Kingdom till the 14th of February.

According to the directive issued earlier on Saturday, the Indian-bound flights from the UK will be allowed in only 5 international airports including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. This vital decision was taken after another deadly and more infectious coronavirus variant was found in the UK and after it began spreading in other countries including India as well.

In consultation with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Health Ministry has been periodically reviewing the covid situation, as a result of which the ministries took the decision to extend the limited air travel between 2 countries till 14th of February. A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was issued soon after the meeting that will issue a necessary permit to the flyers for the limited number of flight operations.
