08 November, New Delhi: In view of Bharat Bandh call by farmers today, Air India yesterday announced the free rescheduling of flights and a no-show waiver. This was due to the nation-wide closure call given by the farmers protesting against the New farm ordinances.

Updating about the Bharat Bandh call, the airlines quoted that for the passengers unable to reach the airport due to the 8th December disturbances, no-show charges would be waived. Also, one free date change will be allowed for those who have a confirmed ticket for the day from any Indian airport. Air India took to Twitter to share this important piece of information. Other than this, they have also requested people to keep a time span before leaving for the airport keeping the situation into consideration.

The Indian air carrier, in an advisory, quoted, “Due to expected disturbance tomorrow i.e. 8th December’20 availability of public transport might get affected. Passengers are requested to keep sufficient time in hand for their journey to the Airport.”

The new farm ordinances were triggered huge stress all over India following nation-wide protests by the farmers. The central government has conversed with farmers several times, and the final decision is expected tomorrow. The farmers are expecting a blunt yes or no answer from the government, and no middle-way to settle down.
