Air India is soon going to establish a direct air link between Chennai and London which is expected to begin in January 2021. The Indian carrier will begin operating flights between Chennai and London each week, besides flights being carried from other cities too.
Currently, this Indian carrier is operating flights to London from other Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Goa, and Amritsar. A spokesperson from Air India said that even though the covid-19 spread prevails in thw world, the demand of flights to London is still high. Cities such as Goa, Kochi, Ahmedabad, and Delhi has quite a high demand for London flights.
Air India will introduce direct flights from Chennai to London and vice versa, however, the regular internatrional flights will remain suspended due to the pandemic hit. The air services are suspended but a few international travel happens under the Vande Bharat mission and the air bubble arrangements set-up by several countries.
