December 12: The Queen’s Gambit, an American miniseries that has attracted a lot of people has also managed to create a symbol of fashion among its viewers. The show explains about Harmon’s chess career as she carries her 60s fashion in style throughout the 7 episodes.

Earlier than this, Emily in Paris also managed to grab millions of eyeballs with its unique and iconic looks, however, this time Beth Harmon’s fashion influence has overpowered Emily’s fashionable outfits as well. Released 3-weeks after Emily in Paris, The Queen’s Gambit has given a new sense of style to girls. From mini skirts to striped tops paired with cat-eye sunglasses has added a simple yet elegant ‘want’ of fashionable clothes in our wardrobe.

The costume designer of the series quoted to The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and said, “We are starting to see her personality – that of a young girl, as she grows in confidence, and moves into her own – both at the chessboard and in life.” The miniseries is based in the 50s and 60s, however, the style followed by Harmon’s character can be easily carried in today’s time. The style and fashion in the series have also helped in depicting the storyline giving a dramatic effect to the show.
