The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has recently appointed Sunil Sethi as their advisor for a year. Sunil Sethi is the chairman of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDI). He would be responsible for the new designs and will supervise them for their readymade garment segment as well. He will also be responsible for the promotion of Khadi not just in India abroad too.

Sunil has forty years of experience in global merchandising. Through his innovative and unique initiatives, he has contributed significantly to the growth of Indian art, Design and textile industry.  When he was the chairman of FDI, he was representing over 400 designers and planned to take Indian designs globally.

This, not the first time Sethi is doing an advisory role. He was discharged as an advisory for various government bodies like National Craft Museum, Hastkala Academy and Handloom and Handicraft Export Corporation and many more. This was not just it for him; he was also the board member with the National Institute of Fashion Technology.

Incidentally, in the context of the Indian manufacturing industry, this is also connected with the message of hope by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, from local to global and vocal to local. In the face of the rising hype surrounding Indian handcrafted goods, growth assumes greater significance and customers are becoming increasingly fashion-oriented.
