December 21: Making footprints all over the world, now Pune-based 9-year-old Vidhi Karva became the youngest fashion designer who introduced her couture collection at the famous Dubai World Fashion Week. Karva has introduced her collection as the ‘youngest fashion designer of the world’ and her clothing line was a part of the International Kids/Teens Fashion Runway which was organised by Vivz Fashion School.

Further, she also told that her mother has been her inspiration in her journey as she used to designer nice dresses for her which inspired Karva to become a designer herself. Karva also quoted that she felt really special for being part of the talent round and the grand finale at the Dubai World Fashion Week. She expressed to PTI that she aims at becoming the biggest designer and a celebrity designer as well.

The young designer’s range was particularly evening wear and a haute (high in French) couture collection. In order to showcase her talents in London and Milan fashion hubs, she is aiming to return to Dubai next year. Since she is quite young, on being asked how dabbles between her career and education, she said that studies are her first priority.

Chandrashekhar Bhatia of the Gulf Maharashtra Business Forum expressed that Karva has a promising talent that needs to be nurtured. He said, “She has shown maturity way beyond her years and has a very bright future ahead. She deserves all kinds of support. We wish her great success.”

She said, “I enjoyed being part of this and I made a lot of friends in Dubai. Of course, launching my own couture was very special. I would like to promote sustainable and Indian fabrics through my designs. I am very sporty and like to make plans in advance. I like thinking creatively and love to style people.”
