After a decent growth rate in metro cities Indian cosmetics brand Sugar Cosmetics is planning to set its footprints in tier 2 cities and add 100 new stores to the list by the end of 2020.

As per the reports of Business Today, 70 percent of the brand’s business comes from metro cities. However, the idea of focusing on small towns came from a decent response to experimental booth set in Siliguri, West Bengal by the make-up brand.

Elaborating on the same, the CEO of Sugar Cosmetics, Vineeta Singh, said, “We did a pilot by setting up a kiosk at a mall in Siliguri (in West Bengal), which has got us very good response. We are now looking at opening a store in Guwahati.” Singh further added that the brand is looking up to opening 100 stores by the end of next year, bulk of which will be in tier-2 towns.

With six standalone stores in Amritsar, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata, 900 outlets in multi brand stores and a decent online reach, the makeup brand is on the verge of gaining Rs 100 crore revenue.
